Description

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations qualification structure below specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification, for those working as a Roof Slater and Tiler within the construction industry.

Its main objective is to confirm the learner’s occupational competence as a roofer. Being a work-related, competence-based qualification it will provide, on completion, confirmation to employers, industry managers and card schemes that learners have the skills and knowledge needed to meet the nationally recognised standard to carry out their preferred role.

Candidates will utilise practical and technical skills needed to work as a ground works operative.

Learners can leverage on the skills and knowledge acquired from achievement of this qualification when working towards earning another qualification or gaining employment.

The awarding organisation for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However the candidates should be working within the industry to enrol in this NVQ. Here at DB College we are conducting an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.

Assessment

Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification. This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. The qualification will be assessed in line with the Construction Skills Consolidated Assessment Strategy and will be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced and qualified Assessor. The assessment process is conducted through our e-portfolio system and it is formed of two parts:

  1. Knowledge – the candidates are required to complete a workbook
  2. Practical – evidence to be collected from site visits
