Description

The Level 2 NVQ Floorcovering Occupations is designed to assess occupational competence in the workplace. Learners are required to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and experience installing sheeting, cladding and rainwater goods to roofs and walls. This qualification is suitable for trades people responsible for laying carpets, vinyl and timber floorcoverings on:

  • Horizontal surfaces
  • Inclined surfaces
  • Stepped surfaces
  • Shaped/coved areas

Learners Must Achieve ALL 109 credits from the mandatory core units. For optional units learners must achieve at least one of the optional units.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However the candidates should be working within the industry to enrol in this NVQ. Here at DB College we are conducting an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.

Assessment

Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification. This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. The qualification will be assessed in line with the Construction Skills Consolidated Assessment Strategy and will be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced and qualified Assessor. The assessment process is conducted through our e-portfolio system and it is formed of two parts:

  1. Knowledge – the candidates are required to complete a workbook
  2. Practical – evidence to be collected from site visits
