Who it’s for
Engineers and quality staff, at any stage
ProQual sets no formal academic entry requirements. You need to be 19 or over on the day you register, and either working in a role — or enrolled on a course — that lets you generate evidence against the assessment criteria. Our programme provides that route, so you can take the diploma whether or not you currently hold a QA/QC job title. We carry out an initial assessment of your skills and knowledge before you start, as ProQual requires.

What is the qualification number?
610/5242/5. The full title is the ProQual Level 6 Diploma in Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QA/QC) – Engineering, awarded by ProQual AB and regulated by Ofqual. It carries 60 credits and 600 hours of total qualification time.
Do I need to be working in a QA/QC role?
No job title is required. ProQual asks that you are 19 or over and either employed in a role, or enrolled on a course, that lets you generate evidence against the assessment criteria — our programme provides that route. What does the qualification cover?

Anywhere. Everything is delivered and submitted online, so we take learners from across the UK and from people working away or overseas.
Do I get learning materials?
Yes, and they are free. We provide materials covering the qualification as part of the fee. They are optional — some learners work straight through them, others use their own reading and experience.
How long does it take?
ProQual sets 600 hours of total qualification time, of which 300 are guided learning hours. Most learners work through it over a few months alongside a full-time job, at their own pace — nothing is timetabled.
What can I progress to?
The ProQual Level 7 Diploma in Quality Control & Quality Assurance (QA/QC), and senior quality management roles.
Is this a CSCS card route?
No. This is a standalone Level 6 qualification in engineering quality, not a CSCS card qualification. If a card is what you need, call us — we deliver the NVQs behind the Green, Blue, Gold and Black cards and will point you to the right one.
