Before you enrol
Do I have to attend a college or training centre?
No. The whole qualification is completed through workplace assessment and portfolio evidence. Your assessor gathers evidence from the installations you already do — observations, professional discussions, photos, videos and site records — so there are no classroom sessions and no traditional written exams.
Do I need any qualifications to start?
No formal academic entry requirements. You should be 16 or over, working in a fitted interiors role — kitchen fitting, bathroom fitting or furniture installation — with practical experience and access to workplace evidence for assessment.
How long does it take?

Does this get me the Blue CSCS Card?
The Level 2 NVQ is the qualification that supports your application for the Blue Skilled Worker Card. Once your NVQ is awarded, you pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test and apply to CSCS — we’ll point you through both steps.
