Do I have to attend a classroom?
The SSSTS element is delivered through structured training sessions. The NVQ Level 3 is different — it’s assessed on site from your real workplace activities, so you keep working while your assessor gathers evidence through observations, discussions and documentation reviews.
Do I need any qualifications to start?
No formal academic entry requirements. You should be aged 18 or over, working in a construction supervisory or senior operative role, have a basic understanding of English and be able to provide workplace evidence for assessment.
How long does it take?

Does this get me the Gold CSCS Card?
The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision is the qualification that supports the Gold CSCS Supervisor Card application. Once your NVQ is awarded, you pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test and apply to CSCS — we’ll point you through both steps.
