Fire Door Package · Two ProQual Qualifications
Install it. Inspect it.
£799 for both after grant.
The complete fire door pathway in one programme — the ProQual Level 2 NVQ Diploma that qualifies you to install fire doors to a recognised standard, and the ProQual Level 3 Award that qualifies you to inspect and certify them. Course fees are £1,399 for the pair, with a £600 CITB grant available on the Level 2 NVQ Diploma, bringing the effective cost down to £799 per candidate for CITB levy-registered employers. The Level 3 Award is not CITB grant eligible.
Qualifications Package

Why the package
The whole fire door pathway, under one roof
Install to a recognised NVQ standard, then inspect and certify with the Level 3 Award. Taken together they cover both halves of the job — and the Level 2 NVQ Diploma attracts a £600 CITB grant.
Installer and inspector
One programme, one assessor, one set of site visits. You come out qualified to fit fire doors and qualified to inspect and report on them.
£600 back on the NVQ
A £600 CITB grant is available on the Level 2 NVQ Diploma for CITB levy-registered employers. The Level 3 Award is not grant eligible. We supply the certification evidence for your claim.
Assessed on site
The NVQ has no classroom and no exams. Our assessor visits your live projects and observes the work you are already doing.
CSCS Blue Card guidance
The Level 2 NVQ is the qualification behind the Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card. We guide installers through the application once the NVQ is awarded.
ProQual, externally verified
Both qualifications are ProQual and Ofqual-regulated. Assessment is led by Bogdan Drosu MCIOB CertIOSH and externally verified by ProQual.
Group and contractor bookings
Certify the whole squad in one programme. Site visits are arranged around your schedule rather than ours.

The package price
Take both together
Install to a recognised NVQ standard, then inspect and certify with the Level 3 Award.
The complete fire door pathway
Both qualifications, one programme, one assessor.
CITB grant note: the £600 grant applies to the Level 2 NVQ Diploma only — the ProQual Level 3 Award (Ofqual 603/4995/5) is not CITB grant eligible. The grant is paid by CITB directly to CITB levy-registered employers on achievement, under the grant rates applicable from January 2026. DB College will support your grant claim with the certification evidence required. Grant eligibility and payment remain subject to CITB’s rules and your levy registration status. The £1,399 course fee is payable to DB College in the normal way; the grant is reclaimed by the employer afterwards.
Common questions
Before you book
Do I pay £799 or £1,399?
You pay the course fees of £1,399 for the pair. A £600 CITB grant is available on the Level 2 NVQ Diploma and is paid by CITB directly to the levy-registered employer once the candidate achieves, which brings the effective cost down to £799. The Level 3 Award is not CITB grant eligible. We supply the certification evidence you need for the claim.
Can I take just one of the two?
Yes. The Level 3 Award is £699 on its own and the Level 2 NVQ is £799 on its own, with the £600 CITB grant available on the Level 2 NVQ only. The package simply runs both through the same programme and the same assessor.
Is there a classroom or an exam?
No classroom and no exams for the NVQ — it is assessed on site while you work. The Level 3 Award includes mandatory pre-course e-learning, which is completed remotely, followed by on-site assessment and training at work.
Does this get me a CSCS card?
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma is the qualification behind the Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card. Once it is awarded you pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test and apply to CSCS — we guide installers through both steps. The Level 3 Award is an inspection qualification and is not itself a card route.
Can you do a whole team?
Yes. Group and contractor bookings are what this package is built for — site visits are arranged around your programme so you can certify the whole squad in one go. Tell us how many candidates and we will scope it on the call.
What if a candidate is not eligible for the grant?
Grant eligibility depends on CITB’s rules and your levy registration status, both of which sit with CITB rather than with us. If a candidate is not eligible, the course fee stands as listed. We will always be straight with you about this before you book.
Next step
Ready to get your team qualified?
Send us your candidate names and we will book the scoping call this week — we will confirm experience, agree the optional units and set the site visits around your programme.
