Before you enrol
Do I have to attend a college or training centre?
No. The qualification is delivered entirely through workplace assessment, so there’s no need to attend classroom sessions or take time away from work. Your assessor gathers evidence on site through observations, photos, work-based documents and professional discussions.
Do I need any qualifications to start?
There are no formal academic entry requirements. You should already be working in an insulation, retrofit or construction-related role with regular access to a workplace where you can demonstrate competence — workplace experience is strongly recommended given the technical level.
How long does it take?

Does this get me the Gold CSCS Card?
The Level 3 NVQ supports your Gold CSCS Card application. Once your NVQ is awarded, you pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test and apply through CSCS — we’ll point you through both steps.
