Before you enrol
Do I have to attend a college or training centre?
No. The qualification runs entirely through On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) at your workplace. Your assessor visits you on-site to observe your practical skills and helps gather evidence, complete observations and build your portfolio — no classroom sessions, workshops or written exams.
Do I need any qualifications to start?
There are no formal entry qualifications. You need to be aged 18 or over and already working in the construction industry — ideally in a role involving lifting operations, rigging, load positioning or site safety, so your assessor can evidence what you do.
How long does it take?
Most candidates complete within 12 weeks. Completion times vary with your experience, availability and how quickly evidence is gathered — at induction your assessor agrees a completion plan with you to keep progress steady. A Fast Route option (+£200) is also available at checkout.
Does this get me the Gold CSCS Card?
The Level 3 Moving Loads NVQ supports applications for the Gold CSCS Card, which demonstrates advanced occupational competence. Once your NVQ is awarded, you pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test and apply to CSCS — we’ll point you through both steps.
How does the 50/50 payment work?
