Before you enrol
Do I have to attend a college or training centre?
No. The whole qualification is completed through workplace assessment — there’s no requirement to attend classroom sessions or college-based learning. Your assessor gathers evidence from your normal work through observations, photos, site records, professional discussions and knowledge questions.
Do I need any qualifications to start?
There are no formal academic entry requirements. You should already be working in an insulation, retrofit or construction-related role, with access to a suitable site where your workplace competence can be assessed.
How long does it take?

Does this get me the Blue CSCS Card?
The Level 2 NVQ supports your application for the Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card. Once your NVQ is awarded, you pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test and apply through CSCS — we’ll point you through both steps.
