Why this course
Built for professionals who can’t afford weeks off site
Assessed where you work
There’s no classroom attendance. Assessment takes place in your normal working environment through observations, professional discussions and portfolio evidence — your site is the classroom.
Qualify while you work
You stay in full-time employment throughout. Evidence comes from the risk assessments, inspections and safety duties you’re already carrying out every day.
Done in 3–6 months
Typical completion is 3–6 months, at a pace set around your workload. The quicker you submit evidence, the quicker you qualify.
A dedicated assessor
An experienced assessor supports you throughout — planning your portfolio, reviewing your evidence and helping you demonstrate your competence with confidence.
ProQual accredited
A nationally recognised Level 3 NVQ awarded against the ProQual qualification specification — the standard employers and CSCS recognise.
Never expires
This is a lifetime qualification. Once it’s awarded it’s yours for good — no renewals, no retakes, on every site you ever work.
Who it’s for

Common questions
Before you enrol
Do I have to attend a college or training centre?
No. There is no classroom attendance. Assessment takes place in your normal working environment — your assessor gathers evidence through workplace observations, professional discussions, risk assessments, workplace documentation, witness testimonies and photographs.
Do I need any qualifications to start?
There are no formal academic entry requirements. You should be aged 16 or over, working in a role with health and safety responsibilities, with relevant industry experience, access to workplace evidence and basic English communication skills.
How long does it take?
Typical completion is 3–6 months. The pace is set by how quickly evidence is gathered from your day-to-day work, so candidates with busy safety responsibilities often move through the portfolio quickly.
Does this get me the Gold CSCS Card?
This qualification supports your application for the Gold CSCS Supervisor Card, where applicable and subject to current CSCS requirements. Once your NVQ is awarded, you pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test and apply to CSCS — we’ll point you through both steps.
How does the 50/50 payment work?
You pay £500 when you enrol and the remaining £500 only when you complete the qualification. There’s no interest and no credit check — just choose the 50/50 option at checkout.
