The full title is the ProQual Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, qualification number 601/4760/X, awarded by ProQual AB and regulated by Ofqual. The rules of combination are 16 credits from the three mandatory units — develop a strategic business plan, execute a strategic business plan, and provide strategic leadership and direction — plus at least 29 credits of optional units, with a minimum of 35 credits at Level 7. Competence-based and assessed on a portfolio of evidence from your own organisation, internally verified by our centre and externally quality assured by ProQual. There are no formal entry requirements; we carry out an initial assessment first. This is a management qualification, not a construction NVQ, so it is not itself a CSCS card route.

There are no formal entry requirements and you do not need a degree. Your senior role and strategic responsibility are what matter, because the qualification assesses the work you already do.
What type of evidence is assessed?
Evidence may include strategic plans, board or management reports, performance reviews, change programmes, budgets, risk records and stakeholder communications, supported by professional discussion and witness testimony.
Is Level 7 master’s level?
Level 7 is positioned at the same regulated level as postgraduate study. This is a vocational diploma, not a university master’s degree.
Can the qualification be completed remotely?
Yes. Assessment and professional discussions can be organised remotely around your work, with authentic evidence securely submitted to your portfolio. There are no exams and no classroom attendance.
How long does it take?
Most learners complete in two to three months. You work with a dedicated Level 7 assessor and feedback on your submissions is returned within 48 hours, so the pace is set by how quickly you submit.
Does it lead to Chartered Manager status?
The diploma supports your route to Chartered Manager status, and Chartered Manager application support is included free — we review your evidence, professional statement and leadership portfolio. You still apply to the professional body yourself.
