What is the Black CSCS Manager Card?

The Black CSCS Manager Card is for people working in construction management or advanced technical occupations. The qualification required depends on the occupation. For Building Site Manager and Civil Engineering Site Manager roles, CSCS lists the Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management (Building and Civil Engineering) as an accepted route.

How do I get a Black CSCS Card?

First identify the correct occupation and qualification using the official CSCS Card Finder. Complete the relevant construction management or technical NVQ/SVQ, then pass the CITB Managers and Professionals Health, Safety and Environment test. Once the qualification and test requirements are met, apply directly through CSCS.

Does every manager need Level 6?

No. CSCS accepts relevant management or technical NVQ/SVQs at Levels 4, 5, 6 or 7 depending on the occupation. This is why DB College checks your actual job role before recommending a qualification.

Already working as a Site Manager?

A work-based NVQ assesses competence through the work you already carry out. Experienced managers can use naturally occurring workplace evidence rather than leaving work to attend a traditional full-time course.

DB College helps experienced construction managers gain recognised work-based qualifications while continuing in their current role.
